- Account Information: When you create an account, we may collect your name, email address, and a unique user identifier. If you sign in using a third-party provider (such as Apple Sign-In), we receive limited information from that provider, as permitted by your settings.
Automatically Collected Information
- Usage Information: We collect information about how you use the App, such as feature usage, interaction timestamps, and aggregated usage metrics.
- Device and App Information: We may collect information such as device type, operating system, and app version.
- Analytics: We use third-party analytics tools (such as Vexo Analytics).
- Payments: If you purchase a subscription, payments are processed by RevenueCat. We do not store full payment details.

- AI Providers (e.g., OpenAI): Queries are sent to AI services.
- Backend & Hosting (Convex): Data storage and app logic.
- Authentication (Apple): For sign-in.
- Payments (RevenueCat): Billing management.
- Analytics (Vexo Analytics): Usage understanding.
4. Third-Party AI Services
Our app sends user-provided text input to OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C.) for the purpose of generating AI responses.
Data sent may include text entered by the user and conversation context. This data is processed according to OpenAI's privacy policy and is not used by us for advertising or tracking.
5. Chat History
Chats are stored in our systems for chat history so you can review your past conversations.
- Retention: Chats are retained until you delete your account.
- User identity: Chat history is not linked to your user identity or personal identifiers.
- Deletion: When you delete your account, all your chat history is permanently deleted.
6. AI Processing & Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
AskQuran uses a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system to deliver accurate, context-aware answers.
- Relevant Quranic text is retrieved from our internal database.
- Your Query and the retrieved content are sent to an AI service.
- We do not send your personal identifiers to AI providers as part of this process.
7. Data Storage & Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information. Data is stored on secure servers. However, no method of transmission is 100% secure.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us for formal requests.
9. Children's Privacy
AskQuran has an App Store age rating of 4+ and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us.
